Rita Guedes reveals medical complications from eye surgery

Brazilian actress Rita Guedes revealed she suffered serious medical complications following a blepharoplasty procedure during an appearance on the television program ‘Domingão com Huck’. After wearing sunglasses for eight weeks during her participation in the ‘Dança dos Famosos’ segment, Guedes appeared without them to explain her situation.

Guedes reported that the procedure resulted in severe inflammation and required a 10-day hospitalization. She stated she faced risks of permanent vision loss, strabismus, and the inability to open her eye. She also noted developing keratitis, a corneal inflammation, and severe conjunctival inflammation.

The actress alleged medical negligence, noting that the procedure lasted three hours longer than typical and that the physician failed to report the complications. She credited physiotherapy with preventing permanent damage.
