Rita Rusic reveals surgery for malignant skin tumor

Producer Rita Rusic has revealed that she recently underwent surgery to remove a malignant skin tumor, specifically a basal cell carcinoma, from her forehead. Speaking on the Rai 1 program ‘La Volta Buona’, Rusic explained that she had been wearing a bandana to cover the surgical site and a bandage.

Rusic noted that she experienced a delay in treatment due to an initial misdiagnosis. She stated that she had been using a topical ointment for three months based on previous medical advice, but after seeking a second opinion from a different dermatologist, the condition was correctly identified as a malignant tumor. She mentioned that the delay caused the growth to become larger than it might have been otherwise.
