Ritchie Bros. expands machinery sales via Mascus and German hub

The heavy machinery marketplace Mascus is celebrating 25 years since its launch in Helsinki in 2001. Now a global platform under Ritchie Bros. ownership, Mascus features over 500,000 listings across sectors including agriculture, construction, forestry, and transport, attracting approximately 3.1 million monthly visits.

Simultaneously, Ritchie Bros. is expanding its presence in Germany, utilizing Meppen as a central hub for the sale of high-quality used machinery. The company is leveraging the large German construction equipment market to facilitate sales to international buyers, particularly from Eastern Europe, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Nordic countries.

Integration between Mascus and Ritchie Bros. allows sellers to move unsold fixed-price listings into auctions, providing a more efficient path to liquidity. This expansion covers multiple industries, including construction, transport, and industrial sectors, moving beyond the company's initial focus on agricultural technology.
