Ritz‑Carlton Reserve resorts earn Dark Sky certification, expand ultra‑luxury offerings in Latin America

Desert Rock and Nujuma, two Ritz‑Carlton Reserve resorts on the Red Sea, became the first properties worldwide to receive the Dark Sky Approved Lodging & Resort certification. The award, granted by Dark Sky International in partnership with Red Sea Global, recognises the resorts’ use of low‑impact exterior lighting that protects nocturnal ecosystems and aids marine turtles that navigate by starlight.

Marriott International is extending its Ritz‑Carlton Reserve brand across Latin America with ultra‑luxury residential suites and villas in Mexico, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. The new enclaves emphasise privacy, sustainable design and a deep connection to the natural environment, reflecting a shift in high‑end hospitality toward low‑impact, nature‑focused experiences.
