While Finney was a guest at the Riu Palace in Punta Cana at the time of the incident, the hotel chain clarified that the event occurred outside of its facilities, services, and operational areas. RIU expressed its condolences to the family and stated it is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities during their investigation. The company emphasized that the incident was an isolated event unrelated to its hotel operations and reaffirmed its confidence in Punta Cana as a safe, world-class tourist destination.
