Riu Touareg reopens in Cabo Verde after major renovation

Riu Hotels & Resorts has reopened its flagship 5-star property, Riu Touareg, in Boa Vista, Cabo Verde, following a comprehensive renovation. The resort has shifted its strategic positioning to focus almost entirely on all-inclusive family tourism.

The renovation included a complete redesign of all 1,181 rooms, featuring updated furniture, new finishes, and modern climate control systems. While the hotel is now family-oriented, it maintains a single quiet pool reserved exclusively for adults.

Dining options have been expanded and modernized. The main restaurant, Morabeza, has increased its climate-controlled indoor space, while the Kabuki and Kulinarium themed restaurants have also grown in capacity. New culinary additions include Bereber, a themed steakhouse, and American Country, a sports bar and restaurant serving American classics located in the former disco area. Other new amenities include the Candy ice cream parlor and Pepe’s Food grill stations.

Additional upgrades were made to the wellness areas, children’s clubs, and pool zones, which now feature remodeled pools and more spacious sun decks.
