RIUH Merdeka returns to Putrajaya featuring Orang Asli culture
RIUH Merdeka is returning to Putrajaya for a two-day event at the Millennium Monument parking area to celebrate National Day. The program highlights the diverse arts, culture, and creativity of various communities, with a specific focus on the Orang Asli community.
Visitors can engage with Orang Asli heritage through traditional kecang games, pansul musical instrument demonstrations, and creative workshops led by village representatives. The event features 19 creative workshops and performances by 18 artists, including Aniza Idris, Ernie Zakri, Anuar Zain, and Hafiz Suip, while also providing a platform for grassroots performers.
Other activities include mahjong, zumba dance, and manggra music. The event also hosts 30 local brands for food and retail sales. All activities and performances are free to the public, with visitors only paying for food and beverages. On August 30, the event runs from 2:00 PM to 4:00 AM, resuming after the National Day parade until 2:00 PM on August 31.
