Rivalta sul Mincio and Pagno launch river clean‑up and safety projects
On 30 March volunteers in Rivalta sul Mincio, Italy, carried out the Pulimincio 2025 river‑clean‑up. Around 70 participants using canoes and motor boats removed dozens of bags of plastic and other litter from the Mincio River, which were later taken to a municipal waste centre.
In the nearby town of Pagno, works to secure the Bronda stream have begun. The projects, costing more than €60,000, include a stone‑block retaining wall and downstream channel protection to reduce flood and erosion risks. Funding comes from Ato 2022‑2023 (€32,050) and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino (€28,000). The mayor highlighted the importance of the interventions for safeguarding homes and the local landscape.
