Rivas Vaciamadrid receives business and urban innovation awards

Rivas Vaciamadrid has been recognized in two distinct capacities regarding local economic and urban development. The municipality held its second annual Business and Entrepreneurship Awards, distributing 32,000 euros across six categories. The event saw an increase in participation, with 68 companies submitting candidacies. Mayor Aída Castillejo highlighted the growing economic fabric of the city, noting that the initiative aims to utilize public resources to strengthen the local economy and retain talent within the municipality.

Additionally, Rivas Vaciamadrid was named a winner of the first RECI Awards for Best Urban Innovation Projects, organized by the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (Red Española de Ciudades Inteligentes). The city received recognition in the category of Sustainability, Energy, Mobility, and Environment for its ‘Riv@smart’ project. Other winners of the RECI awards included Murcia, which was recognized for its use of on-premise artificial intelligence in municipal management, and Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
