River Mobility reaches 50,000 Indie scooters, eyes new utility‑lifestyle model

River Mobility, the Bengaluru‑based electric two‑wheeler maker, has rolled out its 50,000th Indie electric scooter from its Hoskote, Karnataka plant, achieving the milestone in under three years. The company now operates more than 75 retail outlets across India and is expanding its manufacturing capacity to exceed 150,000 units annually while developing a new utility‑lifestyle vehicle for a different market segment.

In June 2026 the Indie recorded sales of 5,217 units, a 264% year‑on‑year increase that placed it among the top five best‑selling electric scooters in India. Co‑founder and CEO Aravind Mani and Co‑founder and CPO Vipin George highlighted the rapid growth, noting the expanded store network and a strategic partnership with Yamaha Motor, which rebadges the Indie as the EC‑06 for Yamaha’s entry into the Indian market.
