River Plate defender Martínez Quarta receives tactical yellow card

River Plate defender Lucas Martínez Quarta has secured his availability for the upcoming Superclásico after receiving a tactical yellow card during a match against Belgrano. Following a 3-0 victory in Córdoba, Martínez Quarta received his fifth caution of the Clausura tournament by approaching referee Pablo Dóvalo after the final whistle.

The yellow card was not the result of a play infraction but was a strategic move discussed with the technical staff and team leadership. By reaching the five-card threshold now, Martínez Quarta will serve his suspension during the match against Racing, ensuring he is eligible to play in the high-stakes derby against Boca Juniors.

Analysts noted that Martínez Quarta remains a guaranteed starter alongside Otamendi, distinguishing his position in the squad from other players who face more direct competition for starting roles.
