River Plate draws 2-2 with Flamengo in pre-season friendly in Portugal
River Plate and Brazilian side Flamengo played a pre‑season friendly at the Algarve Stadium in Faro, Portugal, ending in a 2‑2 draw. Sebastián Driussi scored both goals for River, first opening the scoring after a defensive error and later equalising before halftime. Flamengo responded through Samuel Lino and Bruno Henrique to level the match.
The fixture allowed River manager Eduardo Coudet to assess his squad ahead of the second half of the season, which includes the Copa Sudamericana, the Torneo Clausura and the Copa Argentina. New signings Mauro Arambarri and Giovanni González made their debuts for the Argentine club. Midfielder Aníbal Moreno, recovering from a knee sprain suffered before the Apertura final, continued to train separately with a tailored rehabilitation program and did not take part in the game.
