River Plate Foundation raises record funds at annual charity dinner

The Fundación River held its 13th annual solidarity dinner at La Rural, raising a record-breaking 1,485,300,000 Argentine pesos (approximately one million USD). This represents a nearly 35% nominal increase compared to the previous year's collection.

Under the slogan “Jugar en el barrio, ganar en la vida” (Play in the neighborhood, win in life), the event hosted over 800 guests, including current professional players, club executives, former players, and representatives from more than 90 companies. Notable attendees included club legends such as Beto Alonso, Ariel Ortega, Enzo Francescoli, Mostaza Merlo, and Pato Fillol.

The funds are earmarked for the “Hacer Cancha” project, an initiative designed to strengthen neighborhood clubs across various provinces by constructing football pitches, including playing surfaces, perimeter fencing, and substitute benches. Club president Stefano Di Carlo emphasized the invaluable social mission of the Foundation during the event.
