River Plate midfielder Giuliano Galoppo draws interest from Italian club Cagliari
River Plate has listed midfielder Giuliano Galoppo as surplus to requirements under coach Eduardo Coudet, excluding him from the pre‑season squad and making him available for transfer. The Argentine has attracted interest from several overseas clubs, notably Serie A side Cagliari, which is monitoring his situation and could close a deal for around US$3‑4 million. Earlier this year River secured Galoppo on loan from São Paulo and later purchased his rights for roughly US$4 million; his contract runs to the end of 2028 with a US$12 million release clause. In his spell at River he made 48 official appearances, scoring eight goals and providing one assist.
Other reported suitors include Racing de Santander in Spain and Vitória in Brazil, but the club has so far rejected offers deemed insufficient. Galoppo joins a list of fourteen players who did not travel for the preseason, all seeking exits via sale or contract termination.
