River Plate poaches Rafael Santos Borré, signs Giovanni González
River Plate is reportedly close to re‑signing Colombian striker Rafael Santos Borré. Negotiations have allegedly reached a verbal agreement, though neither the club nor the player have issued an official announcement. Borré, who previously starred for the Argentine side, is expected to provide an experienced attacking option and generate excitement among supporters.
The club also confirmed the acquisition of Uruguayan left‑back Giovanni González. The 31‑year‑old defender joined from FC Krasnodar on a 1‑year‑and‑a‑half contract running to December 2027, for a reported fee of $300,000. González will begin training with the first‑team in Alicante under coach Eduardo Coudet and is expected to compete for a starting spot, adding offensive thrust from the back.
