River Plate releases several players while trialing young prospect Juan María Rupp

River Plate has confirmed the departure of multiple players who were previously separated from the first‑team squad and were training at the club’s Cantilo facility. Forward Maximiliano Meza rescinded his contract and signed for Independiente, while centre‑back Paulo Díaz is set to join MLS side Atlanta United. Youth forward Santiago Lencina is close to a move to Burgos in Spain’s second division. Other listed players, including Germán Pezzella, Fabricio Bustos, Maximiliano Salas, Giuliano Galoppó and Ian Subia, remain under contract with the club but have not secured permanent transfers.

In a separate development, 15‑year‑old Juan María Rupp, a promising talent from Club Atlético Rivadavia, began a trial with River Plate’s youth system. He will train with the club through Wednesday while scouts assess his potential for a future signing.
