River Plate sends Lencina on loan to Spain's Burgos and Salas to Independiente Rivadavia

River Plate confirmed the season‑long loan of 20‑year‑old midfielder Santiago Lencina to Burgos CF in Spain’s Segunda División. The deal includes an option for Burgos to purchase 50 % of his rights, while River retains a buy‑back clause. Lencina will undergo a medical exam and sign his contract in the coming days.

The club also arranged a one‑year loan for forward Maximiliano Salas to Independiente Rivadavia of Mendoza, Argentina, with no fee or purchase option. Salas, who made 37 appearances for River with seven goals and two assists, was not in coach Eduardo Coudet’s plans. Both moves are part of River’s effort to reduce the squad of players training separately at Cantilo and give the loanees regular playing time.
