River Plate signs midfielder Mauro Arambarri from Getafe

River Plate is close to completing the signing of Uruguayan midfielder Mauro Arambarri from Spanish side Getafe. The deal, valued at around six million euros, will give River 100 % of the player’s rights, with the remaining shares currently held by Getafe, Boston River and the player himself. Arambarri, 30, appeared in 37 league matches for Getafe last season, scoring six goals and providing two assists, and will sign a contract running to December 2029.

The club expects the midfielder to pass his medical examination and join the pre‑season training scheduled to begin on 17 June. This acquisition follows the earlier announcement of Nicolás Otamendi and is intended to add depth and balance to River’s midfield ahead of the upcoming campaign.
