Nelson Deossa set for move as Vasco da Gama leads bid for Real Betis midfielder
Real Betis is preparing to sell Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa, whom it signed for about €11.7 million. The Brazilian club Vasco da Gama has emerged as the leading bidder, reportedly offering around €10 million for a majority stake in the player’s rights. The strong Brazilian proposal is pressuring Argentine giants River Plate, which have made a second offer of €7 million for half of the registration.
Betis hopes to recoup most of its original investment and free a non‑EU player slot ahead of the next transfer window. Aside from Vasco and River, other Brazilian teams such as Fluminense, Palmeiras and Flamengo have also been linked to Deossa, while businessman Marcos Lamacchia is said to be mediating talks on behalf of Vasco’s SAF. Negotiations remain open, with a final agreement expected in the coming days.
