River Plate to offload 15 players as squad overhaul intensifies

President Stefano Di Carlo confirmed that River Plate will part with 15 players during the upcoming transfer window, marking a deep renewal of the professional roster. The club has already reinforced the squad by signing centre‑back Nicolás Otamendi as part of the rebuilding plan.

Chilean defender Paulo Díaz, who is under a high‑pay contract until 2027, is among the players targeted for departure. He rejected a reported $60,000‑per‑month offer from Universidad Católica, prompting criticism of his high salary and limited playing time.
