River Ryan shines in Detroit Tigers debut

River Ryan made a successful debut for the Detroit Tigers on Monday, pitching three scoreless innings against the Washington Nationals. Ryan, who was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers as part of the Tarik Skubal trade, allowed only two hits and one walk while recording two strikeouts in his appearance at Comerica Park.

The Tigers won the game 9-2, fueled by three home runs. Keider Montero provided relief, pitching four scoreless innings. The victory comes one day after the Tigers were eliminated from the American League playoff race. Ryan is expected to start again in the season finale this coming Sunday.
