Dr. Nunieh, the former Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), reported being rescued from an attempted arrest by heavily armed policemen at her Port Harcourt residence.

According to Nunieh, the officers arrived without a warrant and attempted to break down her security door. She stated that she contacted Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike during the incident. The Governor arrived at the scene and ordered the police to leave the premises.

Nunieh noted that she was preparing to travel to Abuja to provide testimony to a House of Representatives Committee when the raid occurred.
