Rivers State Police Arrest 50-Year-Old Man for Alleged Defilement of Two Minors

The Rivers State Police Command in Nigeria arrested a 50‑year‑old man identified only as Godwin after a complaint that he sexually assaulted two girls, aged 13 and 11, in the town of Ogale in the Eleme Local Government Area. The father of the older child, Cletus, said the suspect lured the children on an errand, then locked the door, turned up the music and attacked them. He also reportedly threatened the girls to keep them silent.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Blessing Agabe confirmed the arrest and said investigators have issued a medical examination form for the victims. The police are awaiting the results, which will determine whether the case will be transferred to the appropriate bureau for prosecution. The investigation remains ongoing.
