Rivers United targets NPFL top spot after draw with Ranchers Bees

Rivers United technical adviser Finidi George expressed satisfaction following a goalless draw against Ranchers Bees at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. The result extends the Port Harcourt-based club's unbeaten start to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

With 11 points from five matches, the draw moves Rivers United to second place in the league standings. George noted the difficulty of securing points in Kano, stating, “It is a good point. This is a place where it is very difficult to even pick a point.” He observed that while Ranchers Bees appeared stronger in the first half, his team improved significantly after the interval.

Rivers United is now preparing for a match against Katsina United on Wednesday. A victory in that fixture would potentially move the club to the top of the NPFL standings. George emphasized the team's focus on regrouping to pursue all three points in their upcoming away game.
