Riverside County defendants face court in separate shooting cases

Two separate legal developments have emerged regarding violent incidents in Riverside County, California.

In a case involving an attempted murder in the Ripley area near Blythe, Demilo Keith Garner, 23, pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted murder and assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Garner is accused of participating in a July 1 attack where a motorist was fired upon at an intersection. His co-defendant, 19-year-old Erico Jeremiah Ramirez, also pleaded not guilty to identical charges. Both men are being held on $1 million bail, with a felony settlement conference scheduled for August 18.

In Indio, a judge ruled that Gideon Gonzalez Jr., 20, must stand trial for the first-degree murder of 26-year-old Lorenzo Segoviano. The incident occurred during an altercation that began inside a Food-4-Less supermarket and escalated into the parking lot on February 1, 2025. In addition to murder, Gonzalez faces charges of firearm assault and child endangerment. He is currently released on a $250,000 bond.
