Riverside County firefighters reunite with baby they delivered at home

Eight firefighters from Station 90 in Perris, Riverside County, assisted in an emergency home birth after Tyler Wagoner’s labor progressed much faster than anticipated. Wagoner, who expected to reach a hospital, found herself in labor at home, prompting an urgent call for help.

Paramedic Corey Stearns, who has delivered six babies during his decade-long career, noted that the baby, Lily, was born healthy in the bedroom. The delivery occurred at 38 weeks and 17 days. Following the birth, the family held a reunion to thank the responders, who Wagoner described as being like family to her.

During the subsequent ambulance ride to the hospital, the responders and the mother shared a lighthearted atmosphere despite the sudden nature of the event.
