Riverside Freeway Crash Kills Driver
On July 30, 2026, a three‑vehicle collision occurred on the eastbound Moreno Valley (60) Freeway near Riverside, California. A 2024 Chevrolet Corvette driven by 49‑year‑old Roland Barsoum of Los Angeles struck the rear of a semi‑truck at high speed, then hit a 2018 Toyota Tacoma before the Corvette went off the roadway and down an embankment. The semi‑truck blocked the HOV lane, while the Tacoma overturned onto its roof but its driver was unharmed. Riverside Fire Department paramedics pronounced Barsoum dead at the scene; the truck driver and Tacoma driver escaped injury. The California Highway Patrol is investigating, noting speed as a contributing factor.
