Riverti Automobili to transform BMW M2 into 3.0 CSL tribute

Italian coachbuilder Riverti Automobili is developing a custom project that transforms the modern BMW M2 G87 into a tribute to the iconic 1970s BMW 3.0 CSL. The project aims to recreate the aesthetic of the legendary touring car, which earned the nickname ‘Batmobile’ due to its extreme aerodynamic package.

The modification focuses on a carbon-fibre widebody design, featuring enlarged fenders and a large rear wing to mimic the silhouette of the original E9-based racer. While the exterior will adopt a retro racing appearance, the vehicle will retain the contemporary mechanical underpinnings of the BMW M2, including its twin-turbocharged straight-six engine and rear-wheel-drive platform.

Riverti Automobili has not yet released specific details regarding production numbers, pricing, or final performance figures. The project serves as a modern interpretation of classic BMW motorsport heritage, offering vintage styling paired with current automotive technology.
