Rivian CEO unveils Mind Robotics venture as China’s humanoid robot dataset hits 6 million downloads

Rivian Automotive CEO RJ Scaringe announced the formation of Mind Robotics, a humanoid‑robot company that has raised over $1 billion and will develop robots to work alongside factory employees. Rivian holds a minority share in the startup and will be its first launch customer, with the first product expected within a year.

In Beijing, the Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics demonstrated its data‑training facility, where more than 120 robot models are taught across six key sectors. Its RoboMIND dataset has been downloaded over 6 million times worldwide, supporting the commercialization of embodied AI for domestic, retail, office, industrial, pharmaceutical and healthcare applications.
