Rivian lifts US electric‑vehicle delivery forecast to 65,000‑70,000 units
Rivian announced that it produced 12,613 vehicles and delivered 12,194 in the second quarter, far exceeding its prior guidance of 9,000‑11,000 deliveries. On the back of the stronger numbers, the company raised its full‑year US delivery outlook to 65,000‑70,000 vehicles, up from the earlier range of 62,000‑67,000. Investors rewarded the news; Rivian’s share price jumped more than 30% to a near‑year‑high, while rival Tesla’s stock slipped from its recent peak. The firm highlighted its new R2 SUV, priced from about $54,000, and noted expanded production capacity at its Illinois plant and a new factory under construction in Georgia. Analysts expect revenue to grow about 31% to $7.07 billion this year, with cash balances of $4.8 billion supporting further growth.
