Cox Automotive’s second‑quarter EV sales data show Rivian sold 11,405 vehicles in the United States, 789 units fewer than the company reported. The discrepancy aligns with the R2’s debut, as the model was folded into an “Other Models” category that logged 1,252 units. VIN‑tracking and analyst estimates suggest the gap represents roughly 789 R2 deliveries in Q2. Rivian raised its full‑year 2026 delivery target to 65,000‑70,000 units, counting on the R2 to supply the bulk of the growth, after reporting a 7.6% year‑over‑year increase despite a 20.5% decline in the overall U.S. EV market.
