Rivian shares rise following sighting of Walmart+ branded delivery van

Shares of Rivian Automotive (RIVN) rose over 3% on Tuesday following reports of a Rivian electric delivery van featuring Walmart+ branding. The vehicle was photographed on a car hauler in Indiana, sparking speculation regarding a potential commercial partnership between the electric vehicle manufacturer and the retail giant.

While neither Rivian nor Walmart has officially announced a deal, the sighting comes as Walmart seeks to bolster its electric last-mile delivery fleet. Previous suppliers for Walmart, including Canoo and GM’s BrightDrop, have faced operational shifts or ceased production.

Amazon remains Rivian’s largest commercial customer. Following the expiration of an exclusivity clause with Amazon in late 2023, Rivian has expanded its client base to include companies such as HelloFresh and AT&T. Cox Automotive estimated that Rivian sold 8,469 commercial vans in the U.S. during the third quarter of 2026, representing a 221% increase from the previous year.
