Riyadh expands logistics and aviation infrastructure

Saudi Arabia is seeing significant infrastructure developments in the logistics and aviation sectors. ProConnect, a logistics and supply chain business of Redington, has opened a new 400,000 sq. ft. facility in Riyadh. The center is designed to support various industries with temperature-controlled environments ranging from -24°C to +24°C and utilizes AI-enabled technology and a Warehouse Management System to manage high-volume requirements.

In the aviation sector, Swissport and Riyadh Air have entered a strategic partnership to establish the Kingdom’s first Centralized Load Control (CLC) center in Riyadh. Expected to be operational within eight months, the center will handle load planning, weight and balance calculations, and load documentation for Riyadh Air’s domestic and international networks. The initiative aims to develop local Saudi talent through structured training provided by the Swissport Academy.
