Riz Ahmed responds to Vir Das and Fahadh Faasil regarding ‘Digger’ role

Riz Ahmed has addressed the Indian actors Vir Das and Fahadh Faasil, who both auditioned for his role in the upcoming satirical dark comedy ‘Digger’. Directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu and starring Tom Cruise, the film features Ahmed in the role of Ganesh.

When asked what message he would send to the two actors, Ahmed stated, “Sorry. Thank you for your incredible work, and I hope we get to work together.”

Vir Das previously shared on X that he had auditioned for the role twice and felt “severely crestfallen” when the part went to Ahmed. Fahadh Faasil noted that director Alejandro G. Iñárritu felt his accent was not convincing enough for the role and suggested he spend several months in the US to perfect it, a requirement Faasil declined due to the commercial implications.

‘Digger’ is scheduled for international release on September 30 and in North America on October 2.
