Rize delegation visits Chamonix to prepare for Kaçkar by UTMB

A delegation from Rize, led by Deputy Governor Abdullah Kurt, visited Chamonix, France, to observe the UTMB World Series Grand Final. The visit aimed to gather expertise to enhance the upcoming Kaçkar by UTMB event, scheduled to take place in Rize from September 11–13.

The delegation inspected race tracks, stations, and medical intervention areas used during the Chamonix event, which hosted over 11,000 athletes across eight categories. Abdullah Kurt stated that the goal is to apply the lessons learned regarding infrastructure, safety, and participant experience to the second edition of the Kaçkar by UTMB.

Kurt described the initiative as part of a five-year project intended to promote Rize’s natural beauty and develop sustainable sports tourism. He invited athletes and tourism professionals to participate in the upcoming races in Turkey.
