Rize Gastronomy Days features climate awareness dance
The 6th Rize Gastronomy Days concluded with various cultural and environmental awareness activities in Rize, Turkey. A major highlight included a massive horon dance circle formed by hundreds of participants around a giant tea glass. This event was organized to promote awareness regarding climate change, natural resource protection, and the Zero Waste Movement led by Emine Erdoğan.
In addition to the environmental messaging, the festival showcased the region's culinary heritage. Over 100 local dishes from 12 districts were exhibited, and more than 150 female producers presented handmade goods and traditional recipes. The program also featured discussions on the future of tea production in the face of climate change and held a hawk beauty contest featuring female hawk trainers.
