Rize neighborhood road passes under four-story building

In the Kasarcılar neighborhood of Rize, Turkey, residents have implemented a unique architectural solution to address limited land availability caused by the region's steep and rugged terrain. To accommodate the construction of a four-story dormitory and training building next to the local Central Mosque, a road connecting the neighborhood to surrounding settlements was routed directly underneath the new structure.

The passage, which measures approximately 2.60 meters in height, allows cars and small commercial vehicles to pass through the building and the mosque courtyard. While this provides a practical way to utilize restricted space, the low clearance prevents high-tonnage vehicles and large trucks from using the route. This limitation particularly affects tea transport during the harvest season, forcing heavy vehicles to use alternative paths.
