Rize to host 6th National Gastronomy Days in October 2026
The 6th National Rize Gastronomy Days are scheduled to take place from October 8–11, 2026, in Rize, Turkey. Hosted by the Rize Municipality, the four-day event aims to showcase the region's diverse culinary heritage, including products with geographical indications and local specialties from 12 different districts.
To promote the city's culture, 12 academic chefs will coordinate activities to highlight specific district cuisines. The event will also feature the debut of a cookbook focused on zero-waste and aromatic cooking.
In addition to culinary showcases, the festival will integrate environmental themes through a “Horon for Climate” initiative. This component aims to raise awareness about the impact of climate change on agricultural production, water, and soil in the Black Sea region. The festival plans to implement sustainability practices such as waste separation, composting, and the reduction of single-use plastics to promote a “Climate Friendly Rize” approach.
