Rize, Turkey Holds Red Bull Formulaz Wooden Car Races, 400 k TL Prize

The 16th traditional Red Bull Formulaz wooden car races were staged in Tunca village, Ardeşen district of Rize Province, Turkey. Organized by the Formulaz Association together with Red Bull, the event featured three competition categories – general, women and a newly added 45‑plus age group – and offered a total prize pool of 400,000 Turkish lira.

Eighty racers tackled a 1,600‑metre course with safety measures such as straw bales on hazardous sections and mandatory protective gear. Winners in the general category receive 150,000 TL, with the women’s and 45‑plus categories each awarding 70,000 TL. Local officials, including the Rize governor and municipal leaders, attended the festivities.

The race blends traditional wooden‑car racing with a festival atmosphere, aiming to preserve regional heritage while promoting the sport to future generations.
