RJ Barrett reacts to Knicks NBA title following trade to Raptors

RJ Barrett expressed mixed emotions regarding the New York Knicks winning the NBA championship following his trade to the Toronto Raptors. Barrett, who was selected third overall by the Knicks in 2019, admitted to feeling ‘salty’ initially because the Raptors were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

The trade that sent Barrett to Toronto was a pivotal move for the Knicks, as it allowed them to acquire OG Anunoby. Anunoby played a decisive role in the Knicks' championship run, specifically during Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

During his tenure with New York, Barrett averaged 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over 297 games. While the Knicks underwent a roster overhaul that included adding Karl-Anthony Towns, Barrett noted that he maintains friendships with his former teammates and remains happy for the organization's success.
