RJ Scaringe secures over $12 billion for three ventures
Founder and CEO RJ Scaringe, best known for electric‑vehicle maker Rivian, has raised more than $12.3 billion across three separate startups. The latest funding includes a $400 million round for his industrial‑AI and robotics company Mind Robotics and a $105 million seed for the micromobility startup Also, backed by investors such as DoorDash and venture firm Eclipse.
Investors cite Scaringe’s engineering pedigree, product‑design instinct and persuasive communication as key to attracting capital. He now runs the three companies from locations in Palo Alto, Irvine, Rivian’s Normal, Illinois plant and a forthcoming factory in Georgia, while balancing family commitments. The fundraising underscores the growing appetite for large‑scale seed rounds in AI, robotics and electric‑mobility sectors.
Scaringe joins a small group of serial founders who can raise billions across multiple ventures, drawing comparisons to Elon Musk, Sam Altman and Jack Dorsey, though insiders stress his distinct style of selling ideas rather than his personal brand.
