Füchse Berlin defeat Partizan in Champions League opener

Füchse Berlin secured a dominant 44-33 victory against RK Partizan AdmiralBet in their EHF Champions League Group A opener held in Belgrade. The match marked Partizan’s return to the elite European competition for the first time since the 2012/13 season.

Despite a competitive start where the score was tied at 4-4, Berlin quickly asserted control, leading 23-15 at halftime. The German side capitalized on technical errors and fast-paced play to maintain a significant lead throughout the second half. Mathias Gidsel led the scoring for Berlin with nine goals, supported by Tobias Gröndahl with eight.

For Partizan, coach Raul Gonzalez noted the importance of the milestone for Serbian handball despite the loss. Key performers for the Belgrade team included Vladislav Kuleš, Tobias Wagner, and Nikola Crnoglavac, who each scored six goals.
