RLUSD stablecoin to underpin new XRP Ledger startup

A former Ripple staffer, Bias Goose, has announced a new startup on the XRP Ledger that intends to use Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin as its primary financial rail. The project, which is expected to launch around September, aims to bring participants from a traditionally blockchain-resistant sector on-chain. Goose stated the model will feature “no incentives, no tokens” and intends to generate “real yield” without issuing its own native token, though specific economic details and partners remain undisclosed.

In a separate discussion regarding the utility of digital assets, analysts have addressed the relationship between XRP and RLUSD. While some suggest the dollar-backed RLUSD could replace the need for XRP in settlements, others argue the two serve different functions. One perspective suggests RLUSD will act as a digital representation of the U.S. dollar for moving value across networks, while an alternative view posits that native digital assets like XRP could eventually serve as primary bridge assets across networks, independent of national currencies.
