Rómulo Gallegos theatrical production to be performed for free in Caracas
The multidisciplinary production “Rómulo Gallegos: Selva, Llano y Palabra” will be presented for free on Saturday, November 14, at 6:00 pm at the Concha Acústica de Bello Monte. Part of the “Nos Vemos en La Concha” cultural program, the event is a collaboration between Fundación Rajatabla and Editorial Sarrapia.
Directed by Marisol Martínez with dramaturgy by Yoyiana Ahumada, the play explores the creative process of the influential Venezuelan novelist and former president. The narrative depicts Gallegos, played by Jesús Das Merces, interacting with characters from his legendary novels, “Doña Bárbara” and “Canaima,” as they emerge from his typewriter.
The cast includes Rebeca Hernández, Margareth Aliendres, José Gregorio Martínez, Jessica Arminio, and Luis Palmero, accompanied by live music from Washe. The gates to the venue are expected to open at 5:00 pm, and the event will be monitored by the Baruta Mayor’s Office.
