Rômulo rejects international offers to stay with Novorizontino

Midfielder Rômulo, currently on loan from Palmeiras to Novorizontino, has attracted significant interest from international and domestic clubs following a standout 2026 season. During the last transfer window, the 24-year-old received inquiries from clubs in Russia, Portugal, and Japan, as well as Brazilian Série A sides including Internacional, Santos, Red Bull Bragantino, and Athletico-PR.

Reports indicate that a Russian club submitted a proposal of approximately US$ 4 million. While Palmeiras was reportedly willing to accept the offer, Rômulo declined the move, expressing a preference to remain in Brazil to help Novorizontino pursue promotion to Série A. In 41 matches this season, he has recorded 15 goals and 12 assists.

Despite his current performance, Palmeiras has reportedly determined his future for 2027, with manager Abel Ferreira communicating that the player will not be utilized by the main squad upon his return.
