Canfranc Canfranc trail running event celebrates 20th anniversary

The 20th edition of the Canfranc Canfranc trail running event is scheduled to take place from September 11 to 13 in the Aragonese Pyrenees. The competition features 270 kilometers of total racing distance across various modalities, with the Long Distance 26K expected to be the most popular with 550 participants.

The event is set to host 1,500 runners from 13 different countries and 46 Spanish provinces. When calculating the combined distance covered by all participants, the total reaches approximately 59,230 kilometers over the weekend.

Organizing the event requires significant logistics, including the marking of 120 kilometers of routes using 4,500 signs and markers. The operation involves 350 volunteers and approximately 20 specialized workers for course preparation. Additionally, the organizers will manage 13 supply points, providing 2,000 kilograms of food and 8,000 liters of beverages to the athletes.
