RNLI ends majority of lifeguard patrols across Wales

The RNLI has announced the conclusion of the majority of its lifeguard patrols across Wales, marking the end of the peak season on September 6. While most coastal areas will no longer have active lifeguard cover, some locations, such as Whitesands Beach in Pembrokeshire, will maintain weekend patrols until the October half-term.

In response to the reduction in patrols, the RNLI is urging beachgoers to exercise increased caution during the autumn and winter months. Safety advice includes swimming with a companion, checking local weather and tide conditions, and adhering to safety signage. The charity also highlighted the rising popularity of cold water dipping and advised individuals to avoid doing so alone.
