RNLI volunteer Kyle Simpson dies at 26, Rhyl station lowers flag

Kyle Simpson, a 26‑year‑old volunteer crew member at the RNLI's Rhyl lifeboat station in North Wales, died suddenly. The station lowered its flag to half‑mast and issued a tribute, noting his "infectious laugh" and describing him as a "cheeky character" who went "above and beyond what is expected of a new volunteer".

Simpson had joined the latest intake of volunteers only a few months earlier, quickly becoming involved in shore‑crew duties, station maintenance and social activities with the crew. The RNLI UK office expressed condolences, saying it was "very sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Kyle" and offering thoughts to his family and friends.
