Râșnov Film and History Festival to host public debates on Romania

The Râșnov Film and History Festival (FFIR) is set to begin on August 15, featuring a series of public debates centered on the theme ‘Project: Romania’. The discussions aim to encourage civic engagement and research-based dialogue regarding both historical analysis and contemporary challenges.

Key topics include the unification of the Principalities, relations with the Republic of Moldova, the experience of the 1990s transition, migration, and social cohesion. Other scheduled debates will address energy transition, Romania’s role within the European Union, societal resilience, and the impact of artificial intelligence.

The program also includes a component for youth, featuring the Râșnov Young Leaders Summit 2026, where participants will present a manifesto titled ‘The Country We Want’ on August 23.
