RNTT reports 46% increase in vehicle registrations
The National Land Transport Network (RNTT) has reported significant growth in its database, reaching 14,629 registered vehicles and 19,202 drivers. This represents an increase of approximately 46% in vehicle registrations and 38% in driver registrations compared to November 2022.
During the ordinary general assembly, RNTT President Armando Rivas, who was re-elected for the 2026-2028 term, highlighted improvements in service efficiency. These include processing background checks in under 24 hours, express services, and simplified payment processes for affiliations and renewals. The organization reported 9,478 driver affiliations and renewals over the past year.
Technological updates include the use of the Hemicore platform and the first implementation of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) antenna technology at the Itabo Industrial Park (PIISA) to strengthen information management and access control. These tools are intended to facilitate the identification of carriers and drivers, thereby enhancing cargo security and managing access to facilities linked to national and international trade.
